Larson Financial Complaints
Larson Financial Complaints are rare. We take customer service very seriously. Larson Financial's mission statement is to be the very best in the tax resolution industry. This is only possible by putting the customer first. Over the last five years we have helped thousands of clients through difficult tax problems, and have only one complaint on record with the BBB. That is one unsatisfied customer too many, but in the real world you cannot please everyone.
There are many websites that will show consumer complaints against Larson Financial, as well as many other tax resolution firms.
If you spend time reading through these sites, you will often see cut and paste comments exactly the same from one company to another. We assume this is an unscrupulous competitor in the tax resolution field, trying to smear his competition.
These internet sites do not verify identities, contract execution, or the validity of the complaint. Trust only verified sites, such as the Better Business Bureau, which will work to resolve complaints through mediation and will verify the legitimacy of the complaint. Other resources such as the Attorney General's office of the State where the firm is based can also be credible. Remember, there are many places to look, however, few places that provide accurate information time and time again. Verify the source or you may be risking more than you can afford.

There are many companies that can help you with your tax issues. Here are a few things to consider.
Scrutinize companies that claim success rates.
Some companies will state great success rates or exact percentages or dollars they have saved their clients. Truthfully, there is no way make these claims. Each case is unique so past performance on "savings" can be very misleading. Success has many different meanings when it comes to your specific needs. When it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
"Pennies On The Dollar" and "Offer In Compromise" should send up red flags
When it comes to tax liabilities, most people want to pay as little as possible. Many companies will tell you that they can settle your debt for pennies on the dollar. This is untrue most of the time. Although the Offer In Compromise program is real and we employ it successfully in extreme cases, it is not a viable solution for most people and should not be used as an enticement to hire a firm.
Read the contract carefully before you sign
All professional tax companies must employ Enrolled agents, CPA's or attorneys to do a portion of this work. These professionals universally bill their time by the hour. Also, there isn't a way to accurately estimate the scope of work needed to resolve a tax debt case until all the facts are gathered from both the client and the taxing authority. Does the contract clearly state that, or is it hidden with vague language? If they are offering you a flat fee, you are probably going to be disappointed.
Be cautious of claims to eliminate penalties and interest and even taxes owed
Though money can often be saved or eliminated from a tax debt, there is no way to give a percentage or dollar amount of how much money can be saved or eliminated. If the consultant makes these claims, run.
